Morning Worship Service on The Lord's Day, June 7, 2026

The Lord is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation. (Exodus 15:2)

Prelude

Welcome and Announcement

The Voluntary for Silent Prayer

*Call to Worship: Psalm 95:1, 6-7

Minister: Oh come, let us sing to the Lord;

People: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation!

Minister: Oh come, let us worship and bow down;

People: let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker!

Unison: For he is our God, and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand.

*Hymn of Adoration: “Come, People of the Risen King” (SH No. 17)

1 Come, people of the risen King, who delight to bring him praise;
come all, and tune your hearts to sing to the Morning Star of grace.
From the shifting shadows of the earth we will lift our eyes to him,
where steady arms of mercy reach to gather children in.

Chorus
Rejoice! Rejoice! Let ev'ry tongue rejoice!
One heart, one voice; O church of Christ, rejoice!

2 Come, those whose joy is morning sun, and those weeping through the night;
come, those who tell of battles won, and those struggling in the fight.
For his perfect love will never change, and his mercies never cease,
but follow us through all our days in the certain hope of peace.

3 Come, young and old from ev'ry land, men and women of the faith;
come, those with full or empty hands— find the riches of his grace.
Over all the world his people sing— shore to shore we hear them call,
the truth that cries through ev'ry age: "Our God is all in all!"

CCLI 3036374

*Prayer of Adoration and Congregational Invocation

Unison: O Lord of hosts, you are exalted in justice, holy in righteousness. Your eyes are too pure to look on evil, and you cannot tolerate wrongdoing. You are to be feared, for who can stand before you when your anger is aroused? Therefore, we praise you and give you thanks. For we once lived under your wrath, transgressing your laws, following the ways of the world, gratifying the evil desires of our flesh. But while we were still sinners, Christ died for us—the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring us to you, our holy God. Father, thank you! Our hearts are glad in you, we trust in your steadfast love, and we rejoice in your salvation. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen.

*Affirmation of Faith: Heidelberg Catechism 60

Minister: How are you righteous before God?

People: Only by true faith in Jesus Christ. Although my conscience accuses me that I have grievously sinned against all God's commandments, have never kept any of them, and am still inclined to all evil, yet God, without any merit of my own, out of mere grace, imputes to me the perfect satisfaction, righteousness, and holiness of Christ. He grants these to me as if I had never had nor committed any sin, and as if I myself had accomplished all the obedience which Christ has rendered for me, if only I accept this gift with a believing heart.

*Gloria (Tune: “To God Be the Glory”)

To God be the glory, great things he has done!
So loved he the world that he gave us his Son,
who yielded his life an atonement for sin,
and opened the life-gate that we may go in.
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, let the earth hear his voice!
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, let the people rejoice!
O come to the Father thro' Jesus the Son,
and give him the glory, great things he has done!

The Revelation of God’s Will: Exodus 20:1-17; Matthew 22:37-40

Unison: “And God spoke all these words saying: ‘I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery.

Minister: You shall have no other gods before me.

People: You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. You shall not bow down to them or serve them, for I the LORD your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and the fourth generation of those who hate me, but showing steadfast love to the thousandth generation of those who love me and keep my commandments.

Minister: You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the LORD will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain.

People: Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor, and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the LORD your God. On it you shall not do any work, you, or your son, or your daughter, your male servant, or your female servant, or your livestock, or the sojourner who is within your gates. For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.

Minister: Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land that the LORD your God is giving you.

People: You shall not murder.

Minister: You shall not commit adultery.

People: You shall not steal.

Minister: You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.

People: You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, or his male servant, or his female servant, or his ox, or his donkey, or anything that is your neighbor’s.’”

Unison: “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and soul, mind and strength…and your neighbor as yourself.”

*Hymn of Response: “O Thou That Hear’st When Sinners Cry” (TH No. 485)

1 O thou that hear'st when sinners cry,
though all my crimes before thee lie,
behold them not with angry look,
but blot their mem'ry from thy book.

2 Create my nature pure within,
and form my soul averse to sin;
let thy good Spirit ne'er depart,
not hide thy presence from my heart.

3 I cannot live without thy light,
cast out and banished from thy sight;
thy holy joys, my God, restore,
and guard me, that I fall no more.

4 A broken heart, my God, my King,
is all the sacrifice I bring;
the God of grace will ne'er despise
a broken heart for sacrifice.

5 My soul lies humbled in the dust,
and owns thy dreadful sentence just:
look down, O Lord, with pitying eye,
and save the soul condemned to die.

6 Then will I teach the world thy ways;
sinners shall learn thy sovereign grace;
I'll lead them to my Savior's blood,
and they shall praise a pard'ning God.

Corporate Confession

Unison: Holy Lord, I have sinned times without number, and been guilty of pride and unbelief, of failure to find your mind in your Word, of neglect to seek you in my daily life. My transgressions and shortcomings present me with a list of accusations, but I bless you that they will not stand against me, for all have been laid on Christ. Go on to subdue my corruptions, and grant me grace to live above them. Let not the passions of the flesh nor lusts of the mind bring my spirit into subjection, but may you rule over me in liberty and power, through Jesus Christ our one Lord, Mediator and Redeemer. Amen.

Silent Confession

Pastoral Prayer

Assurance of Pardon

Minister: There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus. For God has done what the law, weakened by the flesh, could not do. By sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, He condemned sin in the flesh, in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.

Romans 8:1, 3, 4

*Hymn of Praise: “Let Us Love and Sing and Wonder” (TH No. 172, Tune: “Irby”)

1 Let us love and sing and wonder,
let us praise the Savior's name!
He has hushed the law's loud thunder,
he has quenched Mount Sinai's flame;
he has washed us with his blood,
he has brought us nigh to God.

2 Let us love the Lord who bought us,
pitied us when enemies,
called us by his grace, and taught us,
gave us ears and gave us eyes:
he has washed us with his blood,
he presents our souls to God.

3 Let us sing, though fierce temptation
threaten hard to bear us down!
For the Lord, our strong salvation,
holds in view the conqu'ror's crown;
he who washed us with his blood,
soon will bring us home to God.

4 Let us wonder; grace and justice
join, and point to mercy's store;
when through grace in Christ our trust is,
justice smiles, and asks no more:
he who washed us with his blood,
has secured our way to God.

5 Let us praise, and join the chorus
of the saints enthroned on high;
here they trusted him before us,
now their praises fill the sky:
"You have washed us with your blood;
You are worthy, Lamb of God!"

Worship of God through Tithes and Offerings

*Doxology (Tune: “Old Hundredth”)

Praise God from whom all blessings flow;
Praise Him, all creatures here below;
Praise Him above, ye heavenly host:
Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost; Amen

*Prayer of Thanksgiving and Dedication

Reading of The Holy Scriptures: Psalm 104:19-23

Minister: This is the Word of God.

Unison: Thanks be to God for his Word!

The Prayer for Illumination

Sermon: “Our Father’s World: Off to Work We Go” (Rev. Mike Glodo)

*Hymn of Response: “Take My Life and Let It Be” (TH No. 585)

1 Take my life, and let it be
consecrated, Lord, to thee.
Take my moments and my days;
let them flow in ceaseless praise,
let them flow in ceaseless praise.

2 Take my hands, and let them move
at the impulse of thy love.
Take my feet, and let them be
swift and beautiful for thee,
swift and beautiful for thee.

3 Take my voice, and let me sing,
always, only, for my King.
Take my lips, and let them be
filled with messages from thee,
filled with messages from thee.

4 Take my silver and my gold;
not a mite would I withhold.
Take my intellect, and use
ev'ry pow'r as thou shalt choose,
ev'ry pow'r as thou shalt choose.

5 Take my will, and make it thine;
it shall be no longer mine.
Take my heart, it is thine own;
it shall be thy royal throne,
it shall be thy royal throne.

6 Take my love; my Lord, I pour
at thy feet its treasure store.
Take my self, and I will be
ever, only, all for thee,
ever, only, all for thee.

*Benediction

Postlude
