the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent. (Colossians 1:18)

Welcome and Announcements
The Voluntary for Silent Prayer
*Call to Worship: Psalm 100
Minister: Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth! Serve the Lord with gladness! Come into his presence with singing!
People: Know that the Lord, he is God! It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
Minister: Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name!
People: For the Lord is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.
*Hymn of Adoration: “Rejoice, Ye Pure in Heart” (SH No. 60)
1 Rejoice, ye pure in heart, rejoice, give thanks, and sing:
your festal banner wave on high, the cross of Christ your King.
Chorus
Rejoice, rejoice, rejoice, give thanks, and sing!
2 Bright youth and snow-crowned age, strong men and maidens meek,
raise high your free, exulting song, God's wondrous praises speak.
3 With all the angel choirs, with all the saints on earth,
pour out the strains of joy and bliss, true rapture, noblest birth!
4 Yes, on through life's long path, still chanting as ye go;
from youth to age, by night and day, in gladness and in woe.
*Prayer of Adoration and Congregational Prayer
Unison: God of Love and Mercy: We bless you for the love you have for your bride, the church. You loved us and gave yourself for us that you might sanctify us, having cleansed us by the washing of water with the word, so that you might present us to yourself in splendor. And on that day, at the great Marriage Supper of the Lamb, we will shout with the multitude of the redeemed, “Hallelujah! For the Lord our God the Almighty reigns. Let us rejoice and exult and give Him the glory!” In His mighty name we pray, Amen.
*Confession of Faith (Westminster Confession of Faith 25.1)
Minister: What do you believe concerning the church?
People: The catholic (that is, universal) church, which is invisible, consists of all the elect who have been, are, or shall be gathered into one, under Christ its head. This church is his bride, his body, and the fullness of him who fills all in all.
Unison: Thanks be to God!
*Gloria (Tune: “Regents Square”)
Glory be to God the Father, glory be to God the Son,
Glory be to God the Spirit: Great Jehovah, Three in One!
Glory, glory, glory, glory, while eternal ages run!
Old Testament Reading: Psalm 118:14-24
New Testament Reading: Ephesians 2:18-22
*Hymn of Response: “The Church’s One Foundation” (SH No. 466)
1 The church's one foundation is Jesus Christ, her Lord;
she is his new creation, by water and the Word.
From heav'n he came and sought her to be his holy bride;
with his own blood he bought her, and for her life he died.
2 Elect from ev'ry nation, yet one o'er all the earth,
her charter of salvation: one Lord, one faith, one birth.
One holy name she blesses, partakes one holy food,
and to one hope she presses, with ev'ry grace endued.
3 'Mid toil and tribulation, and tumult of her war,
she waits the consummation of peace forevermore;
till with the vision glorious her longing eyes are blest,
and the great church victorious shall be the church at rest.
4 Though with a scornful wonder, men see her sore oppressed,
by schisms rent asunder, by heresies distressed,
yet saints their watch are keeping, their cry goes up, "How long?"
and soon the night of weeping shall be the morn of song!
5 Yet she on earth hath union with God the Three in One,
and mystic sweet communion with those whose rest is won;
O happy ones and holy! Lord give us grace that we,
like them, the meek and lowly, on high may dwell with thee.
The Prayers of Intercession
Unison: God of our Lord Jesus Christ, Father of glory, we pray that you will give us the Spirit of wisdom and of revelation so that we may know you better. We pray that the eyes of our hearts may be enlightened so that we may know the hope to which you have called us, the riches of your glorious inheritance in the saints, and the immeasurable greatness of your power toward us who believe—the same power at work when you raised Christ from the dead and seated him at your right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and above every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come. You have put all things under Christ’s feet and have given him as head over all things to us, the church. It is in his name we come to You. Amen.
From Ephesians 1
Pastoral Prayer
Words of Encouragement
Minister: Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen. (Ephesians 3:20)
Unison: Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless his holy name.
*Hymn of Confession: “We Are God’s People” (TH No. 355)
1 We are God's people, the chosen of the Lord,
Born of His Spirit, established by His Word;
Our cornerstone is Christ alone,
And strong in Him we stand:
O let us live transparently
And walk heart to heart and hand in hand.
2 We are God’s loved ones, the Bride of Christ our Lord,
For we have known it, the love of God outpoured;
Now let us learn how to return
The gift of love once given:
O let us share each joy and care,
And live with a zeal that pleases Heaven.
3 We are the Body of which the Lord is Head,
Called to obey Him, now risen from the dead;
He wills us be a family,
Diverse yet truly one:
O let us give our gifts to God,
And so shall his work on earth be done.
4 We are a temple, the Spirit’s dwelling place,
Formed in great weakness, a cup to hold God’s grace;
We die alone, for on its own
Each ember loses fire:
Yet joined in one the flame burns on
To give warmth and light, and to inspire.

Worship of God through Tithes and Offerings
*Doxology (Tune: “Old Hundredth”)
Praise God from whom all blessings flow;
Praise Him, all creatures here below.
Praise Him above, ye heavenly host:
Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen
*Prayer of Thanksgiving and Dedication
Reading of The Holy Scriptures: Hebrews 13:7-17
Minister: This is the Word of God.
Unison: Thanks be to God for his Word!
*The Prayer for Illumination
Sermon: “Remember Your Leaders” (Rev. Mike Osborne)
*Hymn of Response: “I Love Thy Kingdom, Lord” (SH No. 480)
1 I love thy kingdom, Lord, the house of thine abode,
the church our blest Redeemer saved with his own precious blood.
2 I love thy church, O God! Her walls before thee stand,
dear as the apple of thine eye, and graven on thy hand.
3 For her my tears shall fall; for her my prayers ascend;
to her my cares and toils be giv'n till toils and cares shall end.
4 Beyond my highest joy I prize her heav'nly ways,
her sweet communion, solemn vows, her hymns of love and praise.
5 Sure as thy truth shall last, to Zion shall be giv'n
the brightest glories earth can yield, and brighter bliss of heav'n.

*Hymn of Response: “O Church, Arise” (SH No. 470)
1 O church, arise and put your armor on;
hear the call of Christ our Captain;
for now the weak can say that they are strong
in the strength that God has given.
With shield of faith and belt of truth
we'll stand against the devil's lies,
an army bold whose battle cry is "Love!"
reaching out to those in darkness.
2 Our call to war, to love the captive soul,
but to rage against the captor;
and with the sword that makes the wounded whole,
we will fight with faith and valor.
When faced with trials on ev'ry side,
we know the outcome is secure,
and Christ will have the prize for which he died:
an inheritance of nations.
3 Come, see the cross where love and mercy meet,
as the Son of God is stricken;
then see his foes lie crushed beneath his feet,
for the Conqueror has risen!
And as the stone is rolled away,
and Christ emerges from the grave,
this vict'ry march continues till the day
ev'ry eye and heart shall see him.
4 So Spirit, come! Put strength in ev'ry stride,
give grace for ev'ry hurdle,
that we may run with faith to win the prize
of a servant good and faithful.
As saints of old still line the way,
retelling triumphs of his grace,
we hear their calls, and hunger for the day
when with Christ we stand in glory!
